ON Friday, September 6, we’re playing with Miro Sprague, Dave Picchi and Billy Arnold at The Loft Lounge, at the Clarion Hotel in Northampton, Ma. It’s a special show because it will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Ruth and Harold Chenven foundation.
When Morning Star’s mom was near the end of her life, she asked Star’s Dad if he would create a foundation to help artists and craftspeople. And that’s just what he did – for the last 30 years! Harold Chenven, 93 years old strong – will be there that night.
It’s also special, because playing with our son, Miro, is an honor and a delight! Back from L.A. and the Thelonious Monk Jazz Institute ( for a few short days) – Miro is such an inspiration – we expect this evening to be an awesome musical feast!
Local artists can find out how to apply and local folks can become a part of the Foundation’s work in supporting artists all over the country.
